It's a shame because it used to be a good forum - but maybe it's run it's course.

I can't speak for the news or general discussion parts of the iccoventry forum, but I do know that what really finished me off on there was the constant squabbling that took place in the sky blues forums. If it wasn't the Celt rambling on about how SISU should sell the club to some rich billionaire who doesn't exist, it was the Bootboy/Gazza war, a ridiculous charade that continues to this day, or it was the influx of wind-up posts from complete and total losers with nothing better to do with their time than sit around making an internet forum a waste of everybodies time. I'd say that's about as pathetic as it gets.

Fortunately, I remembered this site, which, I have to say, I prefer over the other one. I've yet to come across any ongoing interforum warfare, plus this has some great features that the other ite doesn't have (the video posting being the major one for me). It really is a shame, as I used to enjoy posting on the other forums, but frankly now it's just pointless. Nothing meaningful ever seems to get posted on there anymore, and there's no reasoned debate anymore.

Ah well, I think I'll leave them to play their little games with each other. I'm sure it'll make good reading during the coming celebration of worldwide football, especially after England games. :fuming:

ISB - I never posted on the skyblue thread - but I know there was a lot of bickering. So pointless. Fred became a hate figure by certain posters.

There was also a fair amount of bickering on the gen.chat threads - and the content of certain threads certainly didn't appeal to me. I used to love the word games.

The nice thing about this forum as you rightly say is - there's no 'interforum warfare' - and rightly so - and Dutchy does a sterling job

I entirely agree with your remarks as stated.
The rot set in when Smithers decided in his wisdom to appoint Community Moderators and departed to other climes, and two females assumed the mantle of power ie it was their forum and they wanted to run it their way and if they did not like the posts , they deleted the threads and with NO explanation forthcoming!!!!!
The Scousers who posted on ic Coventry got :censored: off with the overall conformity of the so called rules & regulations of the moderators, they returned to the Liverpool Forums, who have intelligent views on posts/debates so I think that says it all.
The Skyblue forum was a good entity when it was instituted but when certain new posters emerged, it was desecrated to a knife/axe arena & the real ic moderators disappeared like ferrets up a drainpipe. I,being a Scouser, would tell true football fans that there is excellent forums re MANU, LIVERPOOL,CHELSEA and others where sensible debate, sometimes otherwise , are there for perusal and otherwise. ;)

It must be Pollyanna, as there is a basic logic to forums ie discuss/debate and that is the way that it should be
