A new report has revealed Coventry is one of the SLOWEST cities in the country for traffic and travel.

Data taken from over 500,000 vehicles that had been tracked for a year revealed the most time-consuming motorways and cities in Britain.

The M25 is officially the slowest motorway in Britain, the Mirror reports, with vehicles crawling along at an average speed of 25.05mph.

But according to vehicle tracking company Satrak, Coventry is among the top ten worst cities for low average speeds.

The M4 is the second slowest motorway, with an average speed of 30.46, in contrast to the M62, which is in tenth place with an average speed of 48.33mph.

Cambridge is slowest city, with vehicles averaging speeds of 13.73mph.

Coventry is in eighth place, with vehicles averaging 16.24mph.

Hereford is the second slowest city with an average speed of 14.09mph and London is the third slowest city, with vehicles travelling at an average of 14.59mph.

Dan Walton, of Satrak Vehicle Tracking, said: “It’s little surprise to find that the M25 is in fact the slowest motorway.

“We undertake work throughout the country and usually find the M25 to be the most cumbersome, and our data provides evidence for that.

“I’ve heard of tailbacks stretching 12 miles in my time there so it’s of little surprise to me.

“It’s nice to see that people are taking care in many of our cities however, as these places are often busy and above all are not environments for speeding.”

I blame our wonderful council. How many times have they interfered with traffic flows/bus lanes and changed priorities?
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
