Jus interested to know if this is a free message board, or do you purchase. I noticed that you don't seem to get bothered with spam which is great! I am thinking of starting a message board soon, really as a place to save all my facebook stuff about History or Leamington etc.

It's not really either Fairmay. The forum software is free (PHPBB) but needs a server to run on. Servers are usually rented but I built my own. That is rare and not for the faint-hearted. Free message boards are available but usually come with strings attached. You generally get the level of service you pay for.

If you want a message board that's responsive, reliable, free of forced-ads and has an easily-remembered internet address it can be quite expensive.

Try looking at freeforums.net

I use that as a back-up for my main forum. ;)
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

Thanks both for your advice. I shall probably look at freeforums.net. Or CreateAforum, I think. The adds are probably not too intrusive.
I'll give it a shot anyway. :)
p.s My wee cat avatar disappeared , I'm trying to find another sort the right size.

Advise any users to install 'adblock' ;) I use it and very seldom see ads.
