"Coventry people are some of the proudest in the country of their city"

According to a poll, local people are more proud of Coventry and their community than any other city in Britain.

Coventry people are the proudest in Britain of where they live, according to a new poll.

More than 22 per cent of people from Coventry said they were ‘very’ proud of their city - more than anywhere else in the UK.

Some of the biggest towns and cities in the country, including Cardiff (16 per cent), Bristol (15 per cent), Chelmsford (15 per cent) and York (15 per cent), are not nearly as proud.

A further 33 per cent of people from Coventry said they were ‘quite’ proud, with 22 per cent saying they were ‘a little’ proud.

When asked what characteristics of their community made them proud, Coventry people said it was people’s “honesty”, “care and consideration” and “hard-working” nature .

Only 22 per cent said they were not proud at all.

The poll, which had 2,000 participants, was carried out by OnePoll on behalf of TSB.

It came as TSB signed a five-year partnership with Trinity Mirror to support the Pride of Britain and Pride of Sport Awards .

Paul Pester, TSB’s chief executive, said: “Pride of Britain and Pride of Sport celebrate ordinary people who do extraordinary things in their local communities.

“It all stems back to local people helping local people.”

Peter Willis, founder of the Pride of Britain Awards and weekday editor of the Daily Mirror, said: “We at the Mirror are both delighted and excited to be partnering with TSB on Pride of Britain

Across Britain as a whole, 82 per cent of people were proud of their local community.

There's no link to this supposed "poll" anywhere in the article or on any of the other Trinity-Mirror websites so that people can check the results for themselves.

True Cov kids are, and always have been, very proud of their city. They might moan about it themselves, but will defend it to the end of the earth if an outsider (i.e. non Cov kid) decries it in any way.

Would be nice to see the actual poll though.
