The bacon sandwich has come first in a poll of British people's favourite snacks.
It was followed by cheese on toast, sausage rolls, Cornish pasties and scotch eggs.
The poll for
Olive magazine saw over half of the readers who took part vote for the bacon snack.
The survey also revealed that white sliced is the most popular bread, followed by brown bread and baguettes.
A divide between the North and South of the country became apparent.
Northerners prefer brown sauce as an accompaniment, while Southerners prefer tomato sauce.
Christine Hayes, editor of
Olive, said: "The survey shows that the Great British public love a bacon sarnie, not just for breakfast but any time.
"But everyone has their own idea of what makes the perfect butty as we can see from the North/South divide."
