Lottery ticket to rise from £1 to £2...

Does anyone else think this is a stupid move?

I don't play the lottery myself but people who do often say to me "Well it's only a pound to lose anyway".

Will they still feel the same way about losing two pounds every week?

I haven't played for years. In fact, not since they turned the RNLI down for a grant, because "They didn't save enough lives!"

The Sun (I think the piece is a little sarcastic, but this wasn't the first time the RNLI had been turned down for similar reasons)

I think the move itself is on a par with Tetley's watering down their beer to avoid taxes, and then hoping the customer will stump up more for the privilege of drinking said gnat's urine. I, for one, say they can get lost!

BTW, Irish lottery offers better odds of winning, so I'm told. :)

Thanks for the tip about the Irish Lottery, which believe it or not, I knew nothing of.
Is it only done online?

I do the Euro lottery now and then, but win squat diddley.
