Members Hobbies

Just wondering what hobbies members indulge in their spare time :?: :?:
I have an avid interest in Steam Trains as I was raised in a family that was closely associated with the era of Railways and had many trips, unofficial of course , on steam engines and I wanted to become a train driver when I left school but that was a wish that never transpired but I have over the years, travelled on many memorable journeys and the one that I would dearly love to travel on is the Rocky Mountaineer in Canada but who knows ;)
Have an interest in photography and take great pleasure in browsing through the family photo albums and recalling the old days.

Old aircraft are my vice, particularly from the cold war era.

Stevie - as you're interested in steam trains - have put a link here to a couple down here in Kent - have you ever travelled on them??? Not quite the Rocky Mountaineer :D

I don't have a specific hobby - when I retired I joined various clubs which keeps me pretty busy. I love quiz nights, cinema, social outings, trips to the coast and the beautiful Kent countryside and general socialising which includes many lunches out.
I used to love gardening, but live in a flat now - and the gardeners undertake most of it. :D

Cheers Woods, I've done that one a few times. For anyone that hasn't done it, they've missed a great day out They used to open the Vulcan cockpit up regularly, I don't know if they still do, but that's a great experience. Especially, if you've ever read about operation Black Buck during the Falklands war.

I seem to remember that as well as the aircraft exhibits they have quite a lot of archive material from Armstrong Whitworh aircraft who were once based at the airport.

Like a good game of Poker but it is very tense when you are playing with your own wedge :tinfoilhat:
