Santa Claus (The Wife) has bought me a new Laptop for the Festive Season and is the norm now, has 64bit Windows 7 installed with a 32bit facility. This thing only wants a pair of legs and it is human . The last L/Top was over 3 years old and was coal fired but this one has that many keys I feel like Liberace. . The wife has said that it is a wonder I do not get blisters on the old bottom as I have not moved from it for a week and the bog is calling urgently but seriously "Thank You Santa"

Trouble is - as soon as you buy anything electronic - it's already out of date - you just can't keep up with it all

People like me are saddled with XP for the foreseeable future. That's because we have dozens of applications installed which have been tweaked over the years to the way we like them. Switching to Windows 7 would mean having to install those apps all over again, some of which may not even be available any more. It's a bit like when your PC crashes. Sure, you can put it all back together but it's never quite the same again.

I'm on Vista - is it best to leave it as it is - or download Windows 7.

Vista has been panned by those in the know. However, I'm using it with no issues at all. My attitude is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
