I really don't know. The power distribution website didn't give any reasons.
Power went off about 1810 and came back on just after 1900, so I would have thought it a little late for most people?
Anyhows, we did eventually eat and I must say it was very pleasant. We're now mellowing with a couple of glasses of champagne.

Glad to hear it Rebbonk

The turkey is cooked ready for tomorrow. I won't get caught twice!
Only discussion is do we go out and have a few drinks before or not?

Haven't seen any fresh turkey at Morrison's since 17th December and some of that had already passed its sell-by date. (I refuse to buy the frozen stuff).

Thanks Rebbonk
It's a sherry bottle rather than wine so I need to be able to reseal it but the top has sheared off. I'd already planned to use the woodscrew method.

Mince pies!
With hindsight I should have bought the few broken ones they had left over at Morrison's since they're only for myself. (I've still got half-a-dozen unbroken ones for visitors).

Afraid not Melisandre and that's the main reason I refused to buy them.

It's hardly worth the journey for a box of mince pies. Besides which there were only three boxes left and I suspect they're all gone now.
