Shoppers say they want department store John Lewis to move into Coventry.



A poll run by the Telegraph revealed that an astonishing 60 per cent of those who took part would like to see John Lewis set up business in the city centre.

House of Fraser came in second place with 18 per cent of participants wanting the department store to pop up in the city.

Eleven percent of voters wanted a Zara opened, whilst eight percent wanted an Apple store.

Only three per cent of those polled wanted Schuh to become the city’s next store.

The poll was created after Coventry City Council unveiled plans to improve the city’s retail performance.

Currently the city is ranked at number 58 in the country for generating money through retail.
