Coventry City Council has issued a statement to end speculation the city's half marathon may not happen in 2011.
The council has been undertaking a tendering process to find a firm to take over management of the 13.1 mile event but has now confirmed the Coventry Half Marathon 2011 will happen, but not as last year in May.
In the statement from Sport Development Manager, Roland Harrison, the council says it is "currently finalising plans and arrangements" and will make a full announcement in February.
Despite not clarifying who will manage the marathon, Mr Harrison states: "Coventry City Council is planning to hold a Half Marathon and Mile Event 2011, to be delivered in the Autumn."
