Tractors decorated in twinkling Christmas lights brought joy to many as they rolled through the streets of Coventry and Warwickshire. Families lined the route to enjoy the festive display yesterday evening (December 13).

Organised by the Sheepy Ploughing Association, the Christmas Charity Tractor Run featured an eye-catching array of tractors as they made their way through Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth. One of them even featured a large inflatable Father Christmas.

Some displayed signs saying: 'Support British Farming', highlighting the major challenges the industry is facing. Charities benefiting this year include Birmingham Childrens Hospital, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and Lens Light.

Steph Ford, from Nuneaton, said watching the Sheepy Ploughing Association Tractor Run has become a Christmas tradition and described it as 'brilliant.' Her parents even made the journey from Wales to join in the festive spectacle on Saturday.

A spokesman for the Sheepy Ploughing Association said: “Thank you to each and every one of you who came out to support us this weekend. What a fantastic turnout, and we cannot thank you enough!

“We are supporting three amazing charities, Birminghams Childrens Hospital, Lens Light and Air Ambulance. If you would like to help us make a real difference this Christmas, you can donate via our GiveWheel page.”

Poplars Farm Shop in Nuneaton, which supports the Sheepy Ploughing Association Tractor Run, said: “It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Thank you to each and every one of you who lined the streets, waved, shouted and clapped for us.

“We have been doing this for many years now and still get choked up with the sheer number of smiley faces illuminated by our lights. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and now let the festivities begin.”
