Closed Nuneaton town centre cafe to re-open as sign says 'we are thrilled'

A Nuneaton town centre cafe that closed suddenly is set to re-open again. Tea and Chat closed its doors suddenly in July with the inside completely emptied out.

But now a new sign has appeared at the front of the cafe, which is next to what was the Jailhouse. It explains the cafe is opening again 'soon'.

In fact, the sign says: "We are thrilled to announce that tea and chat will be opening very soon!' Unconfirmed reports to CoventryLive suggest it could be as soon as this week.

The Tea and Chat comeback comes as a number of new ventures have opened in the area. In nearby Coventry Street, 'Smoke 'N' Ice' - Desserts and Deli has opened where 'Tea Rest' used to be located.

Further down the street, where the Grit Art HQ used to be located, a new Euro mini mart is set to open. New signage has emerged at the front of what was an estate agents for many years.

But mystery still remains about what will happen with the former Toolbox unit, which is based just across the road. The shutters to Nuneaton Toolbox in Coventry Street were pulled down back in August. For weeks, much of the stock remained in the store but now the whole prominent corner unit has been emptied out.
