It is not far away now
Nuneaton's annual charity bonfire and fireworks night is just days away. It was known to many as the 'civic bonfire' and has been held on the fields at the Jubilee Sports Centre off Greenmoor Road for years.
Having previously had council involvement, it is now organised by members of Nuneaton Roundtable. Mirroring last year, those who normally attend Bedworth's annual event are being urged to attend Nuneaton's on Saturday, November 1.
This is because, for the second year running, a suitable site has not been found for the event. Last year, due to the works to build the new £30.6m Bedworth physical activity hub, the club was unable to host the fireworks event at the usual location of the Miner's Welfare Park.
As the works are ongoing, the Miners Welfare Park is still not available so the Bedworth has had to be postponed again. So people are being encouraged to attend the event in Nuneaton.
Not only is it one of the biggest displays in the borough, the bonfire event also raises vital money for the local causes that the Roundtable supports. Gates to the event are due to start at 5.30pm.
Entrance is priced at £6 for adults with £4 for children, aged up to 16, and toddlers, all those aged under four, get in for free. Cash and card payments will be accepted on the gate.
