Two sets of temporary traffic lights set up on the same stretch of road have left residents baffled and frustrated.

Work being done by two companies means one set of temporary three-way lights are at the junction of Windmill Road, Aldermans Green Road and Hall Green Road, with a second set 160 metres down the road close to Pauline Avenue.

"It's been chaos," a resident told CoventyLive. "The traffic on Friday afternoon was really bad, then with the football on Saturday cars were backed up past the industrial estate one end and Bell Green the other.

"You spend a few minutes waiting at one set, just to get through to get caught in the next lot - it's so annoying.

"They are that close together, why didn't they just set up one lot to cover the whole road? Surely that would make more sense - also, it's half term next week, why they didn't just wait until then I'll never know."

According to the Coventry City Council website, the lights by Pauline Avenue are because of work being done by OpenReach. Work is due to be completed on Wednesday, October 22.

The lights near Windmill Road are down to work by National Grid predicted to be finished by Tuesday, October 21.
