Police are running an operation to target shoplifting in Coventry city centre in the run up to Christmas.
Operation Dodger will be officially launched on Saturday and also involves city centre management company CV One, which runs CCTV cameras.
Prolific shoplifters have been given city centre banning orders.
When an offender is spotted by CV One, a store or police, all shops are alerted while officers are called in to make an arrest.
A van accompanied by a police band playing Christmas music will promote the operation from 1300 GMT on Saturday and officers will be handing out leaflets.
