Some outdoor markets in Warwickshire have been cancelled due to predicted high winds from Storm Amy.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said Nuneaton's street market was cancelled and trading would not take place from traders' vehicles. And Rother Street Market in Stratford-upon-Avon was also called off by organisers.

In Warwick, the district council said organiser CJ's had cancelled Saturday's market as "wind speeds of up to 55mph during the day could pose a significant risk to traders, visitors, equipment, and products".

Storm Amy is set to bring heavy rain and strong winds, with gusts predicted to reach more than 100mph in some areas of the country, according to the Met Office.

The Leamington Autumn Market will be going ahead as usual, as the wind speeds are expected to reduce significantly overnight into Sunday, the council added.
