It's been announced on the company's website

An established Coventry builders merchant has recently closed. Jewson on Humber Avenue has been serving the city's tradespeople for decades.

But the company's website states the branch has closed for good, redirecting customers to nearby branches outside of the city.

The website states: "Sorry, Jewson Coventry has recently closed. But that doesn't mean that you can't still shop at Jewson! This branch might have closed, but we still have excellent branches nearby offering a range of specialist services.

"Whether you're shopping for building materials, tools, or parts, Jewson is still the place to go before your next job.

"If you had an account with this branch, don't worry, you can use your account in any other Jewson branch. You can also use your account online, when shopping at jewson.co.uk."

The alternative branches it lists are in Bedworth, Nuneaton and Leamington Spa.

Jewson, which is part of parent company Stark Building Materials UK Limited, has branches up and down the UK. The move to shut the Coventry branch may strike some as strange, particularly considering Jewson and Stark's head offices are nearby at Binley Business Park.

We've approached Jewson and Stark for more information.
