Police have released a CCTV image as they hunt for vandals who attacked more than 40 cars in Rugby. More details have emerged on the wrecking spree in Saunton Road, Westbourne Grove and Wentworth Road.
Warwickshire Police has confirmed that 41 cars were vandalised in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 3). They had their windows smashed and were spray painted with green paint.
Now a hunt is on to find those responsible for the attack, which Chief Inspector Angus Eagles said has 'caused a lot of anguish' in the community. As part of this, officers have released a CCTV image of two people they say they need to speak to.
One is wearing a jacket with a 'distinctive' logo on it. CI Eagles, who is the policing commander for the Rugby area, said: "This incident has understandably caused a lot of anguish in the local community, and we have launched a thorough investigation to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
"One of the people we would like to speak to was wearing a distinctive top which we believe to be the Off White brand. There’s an image of the top, I appreciate it’s not the best, but we’re hoping someone can help us identify the owner. Our CCTV enquiries are ongoing."
He is also urging anyone else with any footage taken in the area, between midnight and 2am, to come forward. "We're continuing our enquiries and appeal for anyone with CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the incident to get in touch with us," the area commander added.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact police either via the website
