It happened in the city on Friday
Two huge power cuts in Coventry left thousands with electricity on Friday (1 August). Over 1,300 properties around Cheylesmore were impacted after a "fault in the high voltage network" which was reported to National Grid at 1pm - a second incident in Foleshill impacted just under 200 properties.
In Cheylesmore, engineers attended the site of the fault within 15 minutes, resulting in 920 properties being back with power by shortly after 1.30pm. Moments later, another 200 were restored.
At the time of writing, 179 properties in the area were still without power, with a predicted full restoration time of 2.30pm.
National Grid's website states: "We are aware of this power cut outage which was raised at 1pm this afternoon and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.

There was a second, smaller outage across the city in Foleshill which was reported just before 8am. This one is expected to last until 5.30pm, after engineers were delayed attending the issue.
National Grid states: "Reason for outage: For safety reasons, we have had to isolate the supplies in your local area. We hope to have this restored soon."
192 properties around Ransom Road and Queen Mary's were left without power all morning.
