It will start on Monday
Coventry City Council has announced the dates the ring road will be closed. An update on Friday (20 June) revealed which days, times and sections will be shut to motorists.
The closure is to allow work to be done on the busy Coventry road which skirts the city centre. The works included pertain to the road surfaces and other much needed maintenance.
The work is expected to take just under two weeks. With the road being such an integral part of Coventry's highway system for managing congestion in the city centre, only one section is being worked on at a time, with complete closures only coming into play during the night.
Despite this, even during the day lane closures are likely to be in place which could have an impact on traffic.
The news was announced by the council on its social media channels.
The post states: "Coventry ring road from Junction 1, Foleshill Road, and Junction 4, London Road, in both directions, will be closed from Monday, 23 June, until Thursday, 3 July, between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am on weeknights only
"This is to carry out resurfacing work and bridge expansion joint repairs. Lane restrictions will remain during the daytime."
