New Lord Mayor inaugurated at Coventry Cathedral says 'great success'

A new Lord Mayor of Coventry has been appointed. Rachel Lancaster was inaugurated at Coventry Cathedral yesterday (May 22).

Councillor Lancaster took over the job from Cllr Mal Mutton. Her chosen charity is the Heart of England Community Foundation.

Cllr Lancaster has represented Holbrooks for 17 years alongside Cllr Stephen Gray and Cllr Esther Mary Reeves. She said being sworn in as the Lord Mayor was a 'great success.'

A spokesman for Coventry City Council said: “We are pleased to be able to announce that Rachel Lancaster is the new Lord Mayor of Coventry.

“Cllr Lancaster was presented with the Chains of Office at our AGM. Her chosen charity for her year in office is the Heart of England Community Foundation.”

Cllr Lancaster said on Facebook: “My chosen charity for the year is Heart of England Community Foundation, an organisation that supports grassroots community organisations across Coventry.”
