Some properties on Lythalls Lane remain without any water this morningFuming locals on a Coventry street left with no supply for 24 hours say they were given just 12 bottles of water. A burst pipe on Lythalls Lane has left 71 houses without any mains water for more than 24 hours.
One local said they lost supply at 5.39am yesterday (January 20) and many remain without water today (January 21). They claim that they have had to battle with Severn Trent to get information - and water.
"It's taken 16 hours for Seven Trent to provide bottled water - 12 bottles," the resident said . "There has been no updates emails texts to any of the residents to let us know what is happening."
They asked CoventryLive to ask the water company for an update. A Severn Trent spokesperson apologised for the loss of supply.
But they dispute the claim that locals had not been kept in the loop. The spokesperson added that a 'complex repair' is needed but they hope to return supply this morning.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We want to apologise to residents for interruptions to their water supplies after a pipe burst in Lythalls Lane, Coventry, on Monday morning. This has been a complex repair which involved us having to excavate a section of the road to get to the burst.
"We have made good progress overnight and hope to see all residents back on supply this morning, while we complete repairs. Bottled water was supplied to affected residents on Monday and we kept households informed with texts and updates to our website.
"Temporary traffic lights are currently in place, to keep our crews and the public safe while we complete repairs and get the road back to normal."
