The store will be located on Regent Street in Leamington Spa
Posh bakery chain Gail's is officially opening a new store in Leamington Spa. After a number of rumours, the chain will be opening at 91 Regent Street in January 2025.
Local Apprentice star Raj Chohan who appeared in this year's series, and her husband purchased the property in 2021, an overlooked building due to its 'lack of planning permission' and 'unconventional design'. Raj said it was 'a bit of a gamble', but building work commenced earlier this year after many planning hurdles.
The couple chose Gail's from a range of competitive offers, sealing a deal that Raj describes as 'more lucrative than winning The Apprentice', she told Slingo. She credits her experience on the show with improving her confidence and making 'bold business moves'.
Gail's was founded in 2005 as a London-based bakery. It has become famous for its pastries, bread, cakes, breakfasts, and lunches. Until 2021, all their bakeries were within a 55-mile radius of their first store in Hendon. They have since expanded with stores in Manchester, Didsbury, and more.
Gail's has more than 130 outlets across London, the North West, and the South of England. The closest branch is currently at Stratford-upon-Avon, which opened in September. A date for the official opening of Leamington Spa has yet to be confirmed.
Despite the challenges of a post-pandemic economy, Raj remains optimistic: "You have to take calculated risks. Work sensibly through the process, and don’t rush it."
Residents in Leamington Spa can look forward to a taste of London's renowned bakery chain in January 2025.
