Two police officers injured after crashing into railings in Coventry

Witnesses described them as 'walking wounded'
Two West Midlands Police officers have been left injured after crashing their patrol car in Coventry. It happened on Kenilworth Road.
Officers were responding to a 999 call reporting a robbery at around 7.50pm on Friday (October 25). While making their way to the incident, they crashed into railings after colliding with another vehicle, believed to be a Porsche.
Paramedics were called to assess the two officers and the driver of the other vehicle, who were described by witnesses as 'walking wounded.' It is believed the three people involved sustained minor injuries.
In a statement issued today (October 28), West Midlands Police said: “We would like to thank everyone who stopped to help when one of our cars collided with another car on Kenilworth Road in Coventry on Friday.
“Two officers were responding to a report of a robbery in progress when the crash happened at around 7.50pm. Paramedics were called to assess the two officers and the driver of the other car, who were described by witnesses as 'walking wounded.'
“We wish them a speedy recovery. Our investigation into the crash continues. Other officers attended the robbery report.”
