Suspected arsonist arrested in Keresley after large 999 response near doctors

A large police and fire response was spotted near to a doctor's surgery in Keresley. The emergency services were in the Exhall Road area in the early hours of this morning.

This included several fire engines and police cars near to the Park Leys Medical Practice. Then scenes of crimes team were seen in the area later on today (October 11).

Warwickshire Police has confirmed to CoventryLive there were reports of two fires in the area. Fire crews responded to the initial calls to a small fire at a property on Bennetts Road North and another on Rathbone Close.

Police were then called to the scene and the force confirmed a Coventry man has been arrested. "Following this, a 32-year-old man from Bennetts Road North in Coventry was arrested on suspicion of arson," the force spokesperson said.

"He remains in custody at this time. There is no wider risk to the public."

Investigations into the incident are ongoing. CoventryLive has contacted Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service about the incident.
