Residents warned bin collection 'delays' set to hit Coventry

Coventry City Council has blamed a 'technical issue'
Residents have been warned to expect 'delays' to their bin collections this week across Coventry. It has been caused by a 'technical issue' that affected systems today (Wednesday, October 9).
Coventry City Council said in a statement that green-lidded bin collections may be delayed today (October 9). Bosses have blamed a 'technical issue.'
Collections are likely to be affected throughout the week, Coventry City Council said. Householders have been told to leave their bins out if they have not been emptied.
Coventry City Council said they are 'working hard' to resolve the issue which has affected systems at 'one of our sites.' It is hoped the backlog will be cleared in the next few days, but if some bins are missed, they will be collected 'as soon as possible.'
A spokesman for Coventry City Council said: “Collection of green-lidded household waste may be delayed today (October 9) due to technical issues at one of our sites. We are working hard to solve the problem, but it may affect collections later this week.
“If your collection is missed, please leave your bin out and it will be collected as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.”
