Coventry City Council has issued a warning about a kids' event that was being advertised as taking place at Hearsall Common. Company The Big Jump: Inflatable Park had claimed that they would be heading to the city this year, despite 'not being given approval.'

Posts shared on Facebook claimed an event advertised as The Big Jump would be taking place at Hearsall Common. But Coventry City Council has hit back, saying they have not permitted them to host the event on the land.

Residents have been told 'not to be tempted into booking tickets.' Southend Council and Brighton and Hove City Council have also issued a similar warning in recent days and told people to exercise 'significant caution.'

Trading Standards has been informed, Coventry City Council said. Accounts that have been advertising the event have also been reported to Facebook.

Coventry City Council advised those who have purchased tickets for The Big Jump to get in touch with Citizens Advice. Scams can also be reported to West Midlands Police.

A spokesman for Coventry City Council said: “We have been made aware of an event advertised as taking place at Hearsall Common. The Big Jump: Inflatable Park has not been given approval and, as far as we are aware, is not planned to take place.

“We have not been approached about a booking for Hearsall Common. Our Trading Standards Team is aware, and we have reported the event to Facebook. Please do not be tempted to book tickets.”
