A mobile bus service has been launched that offers people health services for their heart without them having to travel to hospital.

The Heart Failure Community Nursing Service Bus in Warwickshire will offer care, medical checks, intervention by staff and information.

It will travel into communities served by Nuneaton's George Eliot Hospital.

The George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust said the project was about making it easier for patients to access the services in a comfortable environment.

The bus was launched at Stockingford Community Centre, Nuneaton, on Thursday.

The ribbon was cut by Frank Hern and Jean Gardner, two patients who were treated by the heart failure team at the hospital.

"When I first heard about the bus I thought it would be fantastic and now to see it come to fruition and be part of this event, I am privileged and honoured and will take this with me forever," said Ms Gardner.
