A new regeneration project is being planned for Coventry.

The scheme, dubbed City Centre North, external, would cover an area by the Transport Museum in the city centre.

It would include new homes, public spaces and more transport links, and would deliver "significant housing growth," in the area, Coventry City Council said on its website.

Plans for the proposed scheme are referred to in council papers for a meeting next week.

The scheme would be mixed use, and would also include “access hubs” expanding the Coventry Very Light Railway (VLR) links and making it easier to use public transport to get to the city.

The council said the scheme also aimed to “encourage new inner-city communities."

“The way some people choose to live is changing so we want to support this by providing environments including new co-living hubs, subscription living, creative studios and live-work spaces, as well as new townhouses and apartments,” it said.

Councillor Jim O’Boyle said he had been talking to various people about the project for a long time but it was "early days" and work was still being completed on City Centre South.

“There are no immediate plans to bring one particular site forward... Work is being done to scope out the potential benefits and challenges the whole site could present," he said.

“There’s still a lot to be done, it’s just laying out the potential going forward.”

The city council said there was also as an opportunity for a “strategic investment partner” to work with them on the project.

Maybe finishing the south side first would be a good idea?
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
