A decades-old jeweller will soon be closing for good in Coventry. Edmonds Jewellers has announced that it will be shutting the doors of its much-loved shop in Cheylesmore.

Edmonds Jewellers has stood proudly on Daventry Road for 45 years but will soon be relocating to Kenilworth. Owners Carl and Caroline Edmonds described the decision to shut up shop as 'incredibly hard.'

Carl and Caroline also thanked people for their 'support over the years.' Customers will now be able to get their hands on cut-priced items from huge brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Radley and Sekonda.

Shoppers said they were 'saddened' to hear that the city-based shop would soon be closing, with one describing it as 'such a shame.' Others said they would 'definitely' be visiting the soon-to-open store in Kenilworth.

Edmonds Jewellers will be relocating to HSBC on The Square, which closed in August 2023. It has been described as a 'larger space', which they say will allow them to work with much-loved brands like Pandora.

A spokesman for Edmonds Jewellers said: “After 45 years we have decided to close our beautiful shop on Daventry Road. It has been an incredibly hard decision to make, and more than anything we want to thank our local and loyal customers who have been so supportive over the years.

“As a retail business, we have reinvented ourselves a number of times, which has served us well and today's retail landscape, which is a completely different place post-Covid, now demands that we adapt again. Our new location provides us with a larger space to fulfil our growing online requirements and a new store location that allows us to partner with brands like Pandora.

“We have poured a lot of love, time and money into our store over many years but it is now time to move on to our new store in the former HSBC in Kenilworth. We do hope to see you over the coming months, bagging a bargain whilst we wind down and then hopefully in our brand new store.”
