Man named and charged after large drain cover hurled at Mazda

A man has been charged after a large object was hurled at a moving vehicle in Coventry. It happened as the Mazda travelled along Jimmy Hill Way in the city.
Amar Jawaid, from Coventry, was arrested on Thursday (March 28). He was interviewed that evening, it is understood.
Jawaid, 43, has since been charged with causing danger to road users, said West Midlands Police. He was remanded in custody to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court this morning (Saturday, March 30).
It follows an incident which saw a large drain cover thrown at a Mazda travelling along Jimmy Way. It happened at around 1pm on Wednesday (March 27).
Police said they believe the object was thrown from the footbridge of Caludon Road in Stoke. All of the occupants were lucky to have escaped serious injury, police said.
