Greggs has opened a brand-new store in Coventry. It opened at CODE Student Accommodation on Fairfax Street today (Friday, March 22).

Customers can get their hands on freshly prepared food, including on-the-go favourites like the Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and Cheese and Onion Bake. It will also be stocking brand-new items, including the Piri Piri Chicken Pasta and Pesto and Mozzarella Pasta.

Bosses said there will also be 'new and improved' favourites, including the Sweet Potato Bhaji and Rice, Smoky Cajun Rice with BBQ Chicken and Sweetcorn Fritters and Chicken and Bacon Pasta. All of the items listed are now 400 calories or less, they said.

Diners will be able to take advantage of Greggs' deals throughout the day, including its famed breakfast combinations which are served until 11am. Anyone looking to grab a bite on the go will be able to tuck into freshly-made bakes which can be ordered using Click and Collect via the Greggs App.

Bosses say the new city-centre-based shop has created 13 jobs and has a 'fresh new look' as well as indoor and outdoor seating. Greggs' Flat White and Peppermint Tea are among the hot drinks on offer at the new shop, all of which are 100% Fairtrade.

Customers can visit the new store between 6.30am and 8pm from Monday to Saturday. It will also be opening from 8am to 5pm on Sundays.

Manager Emma Jeremias said: “We cannot wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We have got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats and savouries available for takeaway.”

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, added: “Our new shop in Coventry has brought 13 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”

Apparently not!

Greggs to open new shop on industrial estate

Greggs is set to open a new shop on an industrial estate in Exhall. Details for the new branch have emerged in an application for a unit at Exhall Gate Longford Road, Exhall.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has received the proposals from Greggs. The plans seek permission for the erection of advertisements, including three internally illuminated fascia signs, at Unit 4C on the industrial estate.

Designs included within the application show the signage is for Greggs with its famed blue and yellow livery. The application itself is for a 'new-build retail unit on a new build retail park'.

It adds that it will have two full-time employees and 16 part-time employees. It will be open from 6.30am until 9pm from Monday to Sundays.

The unit will have a customer area as well as a 'bake off' ovens area with mechanical ventilation. The plans are now being looked at by the team at the Town Hall.

They can be viewed on the council's website, by searching in the planning applications section for reference 040162. A decision is set to be made by May 1.
