A brand-new card shop will soon be opening in Coventry. Cards Direct will be taking over part of Next at Lower Precinct Shopping Centre.

Cards Direct is a family-run greeting card retailer selling a range of cards along with gifts, balloons, partyware and gift bags. Cards are priced from just 19p and have been described as 'super value.'

Bosses say the new city-centre-based store will be 'bright and exciting.' It will be located next to Pandora and the Sherbourne Arcade.

Cards Direct was established in 2012 and has 59 stores in the UK stretching from Solihull and Wolverhampton to Poole and Lowestoft. It was recently included in the Top 100 Most Loved Retail Brands in the UK.

Søstrene Grene, The Fragrance Shop, Cards Direct and The Works will soon be opening in the space previously occupied by Next. All four stores will be opening in the coming months, although exact dates have not yet been announced.

A spokesman for AS Retail said: “We are very excited to announce that all four retail units of the split of the former Next in Lower Precinct have now been let. It has been a huge team effort from the landlord and tenant project teams with fit-out works commencing shortly.

“Three of the brands are new to Coventry which is a testament to the improvements to the city centre over the last few years and the exciting times ahead of it. Søstrene Grene has taken the entire space between River Island and O2.

“Cards Direct and The Fragrance Shop have taken two of the three units between Pandora and Sherbourne Arcade with The Works taking the remaining unit sitting in between them for their relocated and upsized store.”
