Coventry has been named as among the greenest cities in the UK to work in. new research has ranked the city in the top five cities when it comes to the most sustainable to work from.

Salary sacrifice company, The Electric Car Scheme, compared data from the UK's top cities, looking at metrics including the number of electric vehicles on the roads, the number of charging devices available or the number of ‘green’ jobs among others, to determine the greenest cities to work in.

Coventry received an overall sustainability score of 5.33 out of 10, higher than the likes of Sunderland and Belfast. Edinburgh topped the list with a 6.79 score.

The research was undertaken as sustainability is becoming increasingly important to working lives. The city is set to become even 'greener' as new developments will likely be required to have EV charging points in more than five per cent of their parking spaces. Funding was secured for a feasibility study into futuristic multi-charging 'CLEAN' hubs in the city.
