Drains are being repaired on Longford Road
Motorists have been told to expect long delays on a key route in Coventry. Works are currently taking place on Longford Road at the junction with Hurst Road.
Roadworks are said to have started on Monday, January 15. Works will remain ongoing for the next week with the expected completion date set for Friday (January 26).
Delays are likely this week as multi-way traffic lights have been installed on Longford Road. Coventry City Council are carrying out drainage repair works, it is understood.
Motorists reported large queues earlier today (Monday, January 22) with traffic said to be 'gridlocked' at around 9am. Google Maps currently shows high levels of congestion on Longford Road, Bedworth Road and Oban Road.
Residents have described the traffic build-up on the city road as an 'absolute nightmare.' West Midlands Roads have now urged people to 'plan ahead.'

It's a disaster and I wouldn't have done it anything like the way it's being done. But, I have half a brain!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
