It will be opening on Ansty RoadA Heart of England Co-Op has permanently closed down in Coventry. It was based on Ansty Road in Wyken.
Bosses say they decided to close the city-based store due to 'unprecedented inflation rates and soaring energy prices.' It closed to the public on December 31, 2023.
Customers have said they were 'shocked' by the sudden closure of the busy store on Ansty Road. Morrisons Daily will soon be opening in the vacant unit with the building set to be leased to Bestcost Ltd.
Steve Browne, General Manager of the Heart of England Co-Op Food Division, said: “I can confirm that all our colleagues at Ansty Road are transferring to other Heart of England Co-Op Food branches. Our members and shoppers will not miss out on any rewards they have accumulated as they can be used at our other nearby stores, including the one at Alfall Road.”
Mr Browne said the decision to close the city-based store was the result of 'increased financial challenges in the food sector.' He said: “Unprecedented inflation rates, combined with soaring energy prices, forced us to review the efficiency of our entire operation and act where necessary to ensure the Heart of England Co-Operative Society remains in good financial shape.”

So how can Morrisons afford to run it if the Co-Op couldn't?
