A warning has been issued over 'possible distraction burglaries' across Coventry and Nuneaton and Bedworth. Neighbourhood watch groups in the borough have been sharing a Ring doorbell image following reports of suspicious activity.

With it is a warning for householders to be on their guard. The neighbourhood watch alert explains: "This person has been going door to door, often late at night, giving various reasons to enter the property, including being lost, a broken down car or lost her phone. They are often very persistent.

"Often a dark car has been seen waiting up the street. Most recent reports have been on the northern outskirts of Coventry, but they may try the Bulkington, Exhall or Bedworth areas.

"If this person comes to your home and refuses to leave, we suggest calling 999 immediately."
