They were taken yesterday (January 2) by a city-based weather enthusiast and capture how the river could not cope with the sheer amount of rainfall which drenched not only the city but the wider region.
The deluge of rain from Storm Henk caused chaos with flood defences breaching in Broad Lane with reports of homes being left flooded. The final night of Luminate at Coombe Abbey also had to be cancelled as the car park and light trail was 'under water'.
Over the border into Warwickshire and there were a number of roads that had to be closed due to flooding. Emergency services were called into action to undertake several rescues of stranded motorists in Warwickshire, including a couple in a car in Kenilworth.
Both Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said there was 'high demand' in their call centres as those hit by flooding asked for emergency help.
As the evening went on, more and more roads became unpassable. This continued into this morning as fire crews were called into action to help a driver trapped in flood water near Atherstone.
