West Midlands Police have issued details about the incident in Upper Precinct

A man has been stabbed in Coventry city centre. The incident has left him with serious injuries - and now police say they believe a number of people may have footage that could help their investigation.

The stabbing happened in the early hours of Friday morning, October 6, in Upper Precinct, West Midlands Police have today, Saturday, October 7, revealed. Police say officers attended Upper Precinct to find a large crowd had gathered and the man was found with stab wounds.

They attended at around 3.30am. The man is now being treated in hospital for serious injuries and police investigations are taking place.

West Midlands Police said: "We are now appealing to anyone who may have video footage that could help our investigation to get in touch." People can upload footage to an online police portal.

The force said: "We are checking CCTV and making enquiries , but we believe that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who may have video footage that could help our investigation.

"Anyone with information is urged to upload information through our online portal or they can contact us by calling 101 and quoting crime number 20/850285/23. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111."

Four men named and charged after young man stabbed on Upper Precinct in Coventry

Four men have been charged after a man was left seriously injured after being stabbed in Coventry. A 19-year-old man was found with multiple injuries on Upper Precinct.

It happened at around 3.30am on October 6. Officers spent weeks carrying out extensive enquiries which led to four men being detained across Friday (October 20) and Saturday (October 21).

Prince Lhamy, 19, from Coventry, Pious Adabie, 19, from Birmingham, and Alexander Nzola, 20, from Coventry, were charged with wounding, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court yesterday (October 21).

Eniola Akingbesote, 20 from Birmingham, has also since been charged with the same offences, said West Midlands Police. He will appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Monday, October 23).

Two more teens named and charged over stabbing in Upper Precinct



Two more teenagers have been charged in connection with an early-hours stabbing in Coventry that left a man with serious injuries. Zachary Williams, 19, and from Coventry, has been charged with wounding, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Jaiden Grant, 19, and from Birmingham, has been charged with wounding and violent disorder. Both were remanded to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today (27).

They were arrested on Thursday as police continue to investigate an attack on a 19-year-old man in Upper Precinct at around 3.30am on October 6. The victim suffered multiple injuries that were serious, but not life-threatening.

Four men, two aged 19 and two aged 20, have already been charged in connection with the incident. "We're still keen for anyone with information to contact us via 101, or Live Chat on our website, and quote crime number 20/850285/23," a West Midlands Police spokesperson said.

Seventh person named and charged over stabbing of teenager in Coventry



A seventh person has been named and charged in connection with a stabbing in Coventry that left a teenager with multiple injuries. Houssame Madmoune, 18, was due to appear before magistrates in Brighton today (2) after being arrested in the city on October 31 and subsequently charged with wounding and violent disorder.

Madmoune is the seventh person to be charged after a 19-year-old was knifed in Upper Precinct at around 3.30am on October 6. Zachary Williams, 19, and from Coventry, was charged with wounding, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon, while Jaiden Grant, 19, and from Birmingham, was charged with wounding and violent disorder. Both were remanded to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court last week.

Prince Lhamy, 19, from Coventry, Pious Adabie, 19, from Birmingham, and Alexander Nzola, 20, from Coventry, had previously been charged with wounding, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. They were due appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court yesterday (October 21).

Eniola Akingbesote, 20 from Birmingham, was due before magistrates in Coventry on October 23 having been charged with the same offences. West Midlands Police continues to probe the incident.

Arrest made in London after serious stabbing in Coventry

An eighth person has been arrested in connection with a serious stabbing in Coventry city centre. A 20-year-old man was today (November 10) detained in London over an incident in Upper Precinct in the early hours of October 6.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and will now be questioned. Seven men have already been charged with wounding and violent disorder after a 19-year-old man sustained multiple injuries that were thankfully not life-threatening.

Violent gang launched 'savage' attack on teenage boy in Coventry city centre



A violent Coventry gang has been convicted over a 'savage' city centre attack which left a teenager seriously injured. Police said the group of eight men set upon a teenage boy near Upper Precinct.

Detectives said the 19-year-old victim had been at a music event when, for reasons which remain unclear, he was chased by a group armed with weapons during the early hours of October 6, 2023. He was found with serious injuries on Upper Precinct.

He was stamped on and injured with knives as he was twice attacked while trying to escape, said West Midlands Police. Officers from the Coventry Local Policing Area (LPA) managed to quickly identify all those involved.

In the first attack, Prince Lhamy and Pious Adabie struck the teenager with weapons before he managed to run a short distance towards Upper Precinct. He was then set upon again, with more of the group joining in, said West Midlands Police.

Alexander Nzola, Jaiden Grant, Zachary Williams, Kennedy Ikwuemesi and Hossame Madmoune either produced weapons or kicked him before they all fled. Police said the teenage victim was found in a serious condition at around 3.30am.

Thankfully, despite multiple serious injuries, help from members of the public and the emergency services saved his life, said West Midlands Police. Police launched an investigation into the attack examining CCTV and phone records which led to a series of warrants being executed in the West Midlands and as far as London and Brighton.

Lhamy, Adabie, Eniola Akingbesote, Nzola, Williams and Grant were arrested in the Midlands. Police detained Ikweumesi in London and Madmoune in Brighton.

A total of eight men have been convicted following a trial which ended on Friday (May 17). Lhamy, 21, of Whitefriars Lane, was found guilty of possession of a bladed weapon, violent disorder and wounding with intent, said West Midlands Police.

Adabie, 20, of Cliveland Street, Birmingham and 19-year-old Williams, of Paradise Street, were both found guilty of attempted murder, said West Midlands Police. Nzola, 21, of Bishop Street, was found guilty of violent disorder and wounding.

Akingbesote, 21, of Bagot Street, Birmingham admitted possession of an offensive weapon and Grant, 19, of Staniforth Street, Birmingham, Ikwuemesi, 21, of Whitefriars Lane, and 19-year-old Madmoune were all found guilty of violent disorder and wounding. All eight defendants will be sentenced on Thursday, July 11.

Seven jailed after teen stabbed in city centre

Seven people have been jailed over a city centre stabbing.

The 19-year-old victim was found on Upper Precinct in Coventry with multiple serious injuries after being chased by a group during the early hours of 6 October.

West Midlands Police said it was unclear why he was attacked.

"There's no justification for carrying a weapon and it's just sheer fortune the victim was not even more seriously injured," said Det Ch Insp Adam Jobson.

Police said the victim had been at a music event before being chased.

According to the force, he was initially attacked by Prince Lhamy and Pious Adabie, who struck the teen with weapons. The pair were given the longest sentences, along with another man, Zachary Williams, who, like Adabie, was convicted of attempted murder.

The victim tried to escape, but was attacked by other members of the group.

Alexander Nzola, Jaiden Grant, Kennedy Ikwuemesi, Eniola Akingbesote and Hossame Madmoune either produced weapons or kicked him, before fleeing the scene.

Police said the investigation saw an extensive review of CCTV and phone records.

Eight men were sentenced in total at Warwick Crown Court on Friday. They included:

• Zachary Williams, 20, of Paradise Street, Coventry, was jailed for 22 years after being found guilty of attempted murder.
  
  
• Pious Adabie, 20, of Cleveland Street, Birmingham, was jailed for 21 years after being found guilty of attempted murder.
  
  
• Prince Lhamy, 20, of Whitefriars Lane, Coventry, was jailed for 16 years after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a bladed weapon and violent disorder.
  
  
• Kennedy Ikwuemesi, 21, of Wood Street, Greater London, was jailed for 54 months after being found guilty of wounding and violent disorder.
  
  
• Hossame Madmoune, 19, of no fixed address, was jailed for 57 months after being found guilty of wounding and violent disorder.
  
  
• Alexander Nzola, 21, of Bishop Street, Coventry, was jailed for 4 years after being found guilty of wounding and violent disorder.
  
  
• Jaiden Grant, 19, of Alfred Road, London, was jailed for 4 years after being found guilty of wounding and violent disorder.
  
  
• Eniola Akingbesote, 20, of Cleveland Street, Birmingham was given an 18-month community order after admitting possession of an offensive weapon.
