Man seriously injured in Coventry Upper Precinct stabbing that saw large crowd gather

West Midlands Police have issued details about the incident in Upper Precinct
A man has been stabbed in Coventry city centre. The incident has left him with serious injuries - and now police say they believe a number of people may have footage that could help their investigation.
The stabbing happened in the early hours of Friday morning, October 6, in Upper Precinct, West Midlands Police have today, Saturday, October 7, revealed. Police say officers attended Upper Precinct to find a large crowd had gathered and the man was found with stab wounds.
They attended at around 3.30am. The man is now being treated in hospital for serious injuries and police investigations are taking place.
West Midlands Police said: "We are now appealing to anyone who may have video footage that could help our investigation to get in touch." People can upload footage to an online police portal.
The force said: "We are checking CCTV and making enquiries , but we believe that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident who may have video footage that could help our investigation.
"Anyone with information is urged to upload information through our online portal or they can contact us by calling 101 and quoting crime number 20/850285/23. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111."
