It will reopen in August
A landmark bank building will be undergoing a huge refurbishment in Coventry. Lloyds Bank confirmed that the branch on High Street will remain closed until August.
A full refurbishment will be taking place at the city-centre-based branch which was built in 1932. Lloyds said there will be a 'Knowledge Bar' as well as brand-new ATMS. It will reopen to the public on Thursday, August 24.
Construction has already begun with plans to create freestanding meeting pods, refurbish the toilets and replace the existing flooring. It is understood the walls and ceiling will also be painted.
Customers have been advised to use the nearby branches on Daventry Road and Foleshill Road. Alternatively, people can use telephone, mobile and online banking as well as the Post Office.
A spokesman for Lloyds Bank said: “We are investing in our Coventry High Street branch and once the refurbishment is complete in August, customers will have access to a new 'Knowledge Bar' for informal chats, alongside private meeting spaces, ATMs and other banking services.”
