Coventry greeting card store closes down ahead of City Centre South
A Write Card has closed due to the planned demolition of the City Arcade and the Bull Yard
A popular greeting card store has permanently shut down in Coventry. A Write Card, on Market Way, closed for good on Monday, April 3.
A Write Card closed due to the planned demolition of the City Arcade and the Bull Yard. A number of other shops will also shut in the coming months as plans move forward for multi-million-pound redevelopment scheme City Centre South.
Manager Sharon Midwinter said employees have been moved to the store on Cross Cheaping. It comes after the store reopened following a period of closure last year.
Ms Midwinter told CoventryLive: “Like any business that is down there currently, we have closed because of the redevelopment of the city. Staff have moved over to Cross Cheaping.”
A sign has been placed on the window to notify customers about the closure of the store on Market Way. It reads: “A Write Card, this shop is now permanently closed, please use our other shop at Cross Cheaping. Thank you.”
