A group of performers have been left 'heartbroken' after balaclava-clad yobs stole their props in Coventry. Jurassic Live travels around the country to entertain families with a dinosaur-themed show with the cast recently performing at The Albany Theatre.

Crews had been staying at the Holiday Inn near the M6 on Saturday and Sunday (April 1 and 2). Six production vehicles were broken into shortly after 9.35am on Monday (April 3).

A number of items were stolen from the vehicles, the company said. One of the crew managed to 'disturb' the masked group, which caused them to flee the scene in a blue-coloured Mazda.

Managing Director of Jurassic Live Samuel Foulkes said: “We are gutted to report that in the Holiday Inn Coventry M6, where our cast and crew were staying over the weekend after a run of successful shows in The Albany Theatre in Coventry, unfortunately, six of our production vehicles were broken into at 9.37am [on Monday] and a number of items were stolen from our vehicles. One of our team did disturb the masked group but they did make off with multiple items from our show.

“We are absolutely heartbroken that our family show has been targeted and this will of course have a detrimental impact on the show and hardworking team going forward. We would like to reassure customers that no dates will be affected by the robbery and all future shows will take place as planned.

“We are now appealing for anyone who may have any information or may have seen something or know this vehicle to help us recover the stolen items from our show and help catch these criminals. If you have any information please do not hesitate to contact us at info@jurassic-live.co.uk or call the police on 101.”

The show is due to be performed at Aberdeen next, with dates on April 10 and 11 before visiting Inverness and Glasgow.
