CoventryLive has contacted West Midlands Police for more information about the incident at Ernesford Grange Community Academy
A schoolgirl was slashed with a knife outside a Coventry secondary school this [Friday] afternoon. Ernesford Grange Community Academy has confirmed there was an incident at the school.
Multiple reports of an incident at the school emerged from worried parents on social media late this afternoon. At 5.45pm, police revealed a girl had been slashed with a knife.
A statement from West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was left with minor injuries after being slashed with a pocket knife by a teenager outside Ernesford Grange Academy on Princethorpe Way, Coventry, shortly before 3.30pm today (Feb 10).
"The girl didn’t require hospital treatment. We have arrested an 18-year-old man who is currently in custody. We are in the early stages of our enquiries but would urge people with information including mobile phone footage to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101 quoting log number 2545 of 10 Feb."
