Shopkeeper stabbed in attempted knifepoint robbery

A shop worker was taken to hospital after being stabbed during an attempted knifepoint robbery in Coventry. It happened at a busy newsagent in Willenhall.

Police rushed to VVS News and Wine shortly before 9pm on Tuesday (November 29). Paramedics were also called to the shop on Yarningale Road.

A man, the shop worker, suffered head and hand injuries in the incident. He was taken to hospital for further treatment.

West Midlands Police has launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officers are reviewing CCTV and carrying out further enquiries.

I'm surprised there's a shop there of any kind, it's well off the beaten track! :shock:

It may have been a post office at one time?
