Nuneaton's former TJ Hughes store to become a pound shop...

The new store will open in just a few weeks time



One Beyond will be moving into the flagship unit at Nuneaton's Ropewalk Shopping Centre. It has been confirmed to CoventryLive that the discount firm will be taking up the former home of TJ Hughes.

CoventryLive last week reported that the discount store, formerly known as One Below, was opening its first store in the town centre. It was rumoured that it would be within the shopping centre.

And now it has been confirmed that it will take over its flagship unit. The site was also previously home to BHS.

A spokesman for the Ropewalk Shopping Centre said that the unit is currently being fitted out in preparation for it to be opened in just a matter of weeks. The plan is for the new store, which will be over two floors, to open in the week starting October 7.

"Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council are working with Ropewalk to support the new retailers to help deliver a great experience for the town centre," a spokesman for the centre said. "The new owners of Ropewalk are very keen and proactive and will be announcing more new retail offers in the coming months."

The One Beyond Nuneaton store will be the only one in the area after a branch in Coventry closed.
