The multi-millionaire owner of Segway has died after he plunged off a cliff while riding one of the two-wheel electric scooters.
Jimi Heselden was using the device to inspect his North Yorkshire estate when he accidentally drove off a cliff into the river Wharfe near Boston Spa yesterday.
The 62-year-old bought the firm in January which makes the “transporter” — once heralded as the future of transportation — which uses gyroscopes to remain upright and is controlled by the direction the rider leans.
His family were today said to be “in a state” and “shocked” by the freak accident yesterday morning.
