The 50ft by 30ft creation has been designed by people who have experienced homelessness.

It is the largest mural the international street artist known as Woskerski has ever painted.

The design represents the things homeless people needed when they had nowhere to go and depicts the hope that kept them going.

The flowers on the design represent growth, with the watering can symbolising the nurture and care being provided by the local community and the police.

The new mural was paid for by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner with cash confiscated from criminals by the courts.

It came about through a series of workshops held with Crisis to develop the police’s understanding of homelessness.

Coventry’s Business Improvement District facilitated the project and it is one of many murals being designed as part of the UK City of Culture’s In Paint We Trust project.

Woskerski said: “Being able to paint a police station is very meaningful. It shows that things have changed.

Coventry BID’s operations manager Adrian Woolford added: “It’s amazing to see the latest In Paint We Trust project unveiled in such a prominent place, and with such an important message.

“As a joint delivery partner for In Paint We Trust, Coventry BID has been privileged to work with a range of artists, organisations, and businesses to create wonderful installations across the city.

“We’ve been delighted to be a part of such an important project for Coventry, and one whose legacy will last for years to come.”

Yeah right, if I was homeless the only thing I would think about would be watering cans and flowers! :clown:
