A teenager has been arrested after a Ford Fiesta ploughed into OAP's bungalow in Nuneaton. The 19-year-old, who has not been identified but is from Ansley, was arrested after the incident in Northumberland Avenue.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, dangerous driving and a traffic offence. The suspect was taken into custody and was questioned before being released under investigation.

Enquiries into the incident, which left the front of the bungalow caved in, are continuing. As well as the police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to the 999 calls made in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 21).

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said that they took a woman from inside the property to be checked over in hospital. Fortunately she was not seriously injured as a result of the incident.
