Happy couple Lisa Little and Lee Nelson are the team behind Nanny June's in Regent Street
A celebrity make-up artist from Coventry has launched a beauty salon with a twist. Lisa Little worked with some of the biggest names in reality TV such as Gemma Collins, Georgia Steele, Dawn Ward, Lauren Goodyear and Jessica Wright, while based in London.
Now she's hoping to please crowds closer to home with a new business in Leamington she has set alongside her partner Lee Nelson. Nanny June's, which replaces Nashwhite hairdressers in Regent Street, is a 'beauty concept store' where everything goes - from haircuts and hair extensions to brows and beauty treatments.
It's all in a relaxed environment where customers have the space to spread out in a 'getting ready room' and time to chill and chat in a licensed bar. The concept is borne out of Lisa's experiences as a make-up artist, both in a salon and self-employed, and serves as a fitting legacy to her nanny June, who passed away on Christmas Day in 2020.
"It's bringing who my nan was to life," Lisa, 35, told WarwickshireLive. "She made you feel special and that's what we aim to do. We've all lost people during the pandemic. We've not been able to go out and not been able to feel human.
"We want to make people feel the best they can feel. My nan taught me about skin care. She always put make-up on. She lived life to the full.
"She was fearless, but she also had the devil in her and was mischievous. I'm all of those things too. I want to inject life into people and make them feel a million dollars, like my nanny used to."
